Description
Stone Seam Tape is part of an innovative finishing system for deck seams. Installers often spend a lot of time and energy removing excess adhesive from their joints with a razor blade, going back and forth over the length of the seam over and over, shaving a little bit of glue with each pass.
With the Stone Seam Tape, much of this time is eliminated, using the tape to “squeegee” out most of the excess before the glue is dry.
Stone Seam Tape comes in a 1″ x 200′ roll. It has a glossy side and a matte side which transfers to the joint allowing you to create the right finish for high gloss or leathered/textured surfaces.
Using Stone Seam Tape is easy. Simply —
- Apply Stone Seam adhesive to the joint and pull it together
- Cut a length of tape to fit your seam
- Place the tape on the surface (choose gloss or matte side depending on the surface)
- Use a metal or plastic razor to “squeegee out” as much excess adhesive as possible
- Allow to cure until nearly hardened. The glue should be dry to the touch but still flexible
- Remove the tape
- Holding the razor at a 45° angle, remove excess adhesive on the surface. It should come off easily in long sections
- Your seam is complete and flush with the surface without all the scraping
