How to Install SapienStone Keep-Nut Anchors
If you fabricate 12mm porcelain slabs like Sapienstone, you’ll know that working with these materials is a bit different than fabricating granite and marble. So it’s not surprising that most of the traditional methods of installing undermount sinks, will not apply. Fortunately the Keep-nut is a great solution for 12mm sintered stone and porcelain countertops which allows seamless processes for all materials coming through your shop. Now you have 1 anchor for porcelain, granite, marble, glass, Corian, and quartz. Check out the video below to learn more.
The Keep-Nut is a self-anchoring, press-in, threaded insert that provides permanent threads in countertops or panels.
Preparing and installing the Keep Nut is easy and quick, requiring no undercut hole. To install, drill simple holes with a CNC machine or the KDM110 manual drilling machine. Once the holes are drilled and free from any residual material, install the Keep-Nut with the Keep-Nut Setting Tool. Use a hammer to tap the Keep-Nuts into the holes.
Once the Keep Nut is inserted, the setting tool simply unscrews leaving the Keep Nut securely in place. The innovative design of the anchor creates a secure mechanical attachment without any need for additional resins or adhesives. Depending on the anchor selected and material used, the Keep-nut can provide tensile strength of 500lbs+ per anchor!
